Great Lakes Retrievers

Our Story
Claira has always had a special love for Golden Retrievers. Her Golden, Honey, is not just a pet but her best friend and an important part of the family.
Claira and her husband, Brayden, were recently married and Brayden has quickly grown to love Honey just as much. This year is especially exciting for them, as they are expecting their first baby in June while Honey is expecting puppies in May.
It will be a special season for their growing family as they look forward to welcoming both a baby and a new litter of puppies around the same time.
Ethical Breeding Standards
Responsible breeding is the foundation of everything we do. At Great Lakes Retrievers, we adhere to strict ethical standards designed to protect the health, temperament, and future of the breed.

Health Testing
All puppies undergo comprehensive health testing, vaccinations, deworming, AKC registration, and micro-chipping to ensure all the initial care is completed before a puppy goes home.

Intentional Breeding
Breeding decisions are based on temperament, health, and structure, not trends or coat color. We produce and raise Goldens befitting the breed standard.

Limited Litters
We breed infrequently and never back-to-back, allowing our dogs ample time to rest and live full, enriched lives outside of breeding.

Lifetime Commitment
If for any reason you are unable to keep your puppy, we ask that the dog be returned to us so we can ensure it is placed in a safe and loving home. Our goal is that every puppy we raise is cared for throughout its life.
